Tree Hugger Consulting provides green building certification consulting services for commercial and institutional buildings.  We provide process management for U.S. Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and Energy Star certification.  We work on projects from design through construction, and also consult on renovations, additions, and existing buildings.

Company Profile

Started in 2008, Tree Hugger Consulting is the only green building consultant in Salem, Oregon.  We are an Oregon Certified Emerging Small Business (ESB), Woman Owned Business (WBE), and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE).

Dawn Killough, LEED AP, CSBA (Certified Sustainable Building Advisor), has 15 years experience in commercial construction, working for general contractors and subcontractors.  She worked on the LEED Certification of Salmon Run, a mixed-use development in Salem, Oregon.  Through that learning experience, she developed a passion for green building and making a difference in the construction industry. 

Mrs. Killough is a contributing author for Green Building Elements, a blog focused on green building.  She has also written an e-book, Green Building Design 101, which is available for download for free.  A LEED strategy guide is in the works, and will be available here soon.
